Faisalabad-Distribution defends Title as SNGPL Annual Sports Gala 2025 Successfully Concludes in Islamabad

SNGPL organized its 04 days Annual Sports Gala 2025 at the Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad, from 09 to 12 November 2025. This was the first time the event was held outside Lahore.

The Opening Ceremony was led by Mr. Faisal Iqbal, Deputy Managing Director, SNGPL who attended as the Chief Guest and formally opened the event by lighting the torch. Major General Irfan Arshad, HI(M) (Retd.), President Alpine Club of Pakistan, graced the occasion as Guest of Honor, while Mr. Imtiaz Mehmood, President SNGPL Sports Steering Committee, and Mr. Zubair Ahmed Khan, President CBA, jointly welcomed both distinguished guests.

A total of 371 players from 22 Regional Sports Teams across Pakistan participated in 12 competitive events, including Table Tennis (Single & Double), Badminton (Single & Double), Tug of War, Volleyball, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, 100m, 200m and 4 x100m Relay Race. Female athletes also took part in Table Tennis and Badminton, reflecting the inclusive spirit of the Gala.

The event concluded on 12 November 2025 with the distribution of trophies, medals, and cash awards amounting to Rs. 1.2 million among the winners. The Closing Ceremony was graced by Mr. Adnan Ahmed, General Manager Islamabad as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Imran Safdar Virk (General Secretary, SNGPL Sports Steering Committee), Mr. Masam Ibrahim (Incharge Rawalpindi Region), Mr. Shaheen Iqbal (General Secretary CBA), also distributed the trophies and medals among the winners.

In the final standings, Faisalabad-D Region successfully defended its championship title with 60 points. Multan-T and Mardan Region shared second place with 34 points each, while Head Office secured third position with 28 points.

SNGPL’s Annual Sports Gala continues to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and employee well-being across the organization. Glimpses of the event are shared below.

1st SNGPL All Pakistan Badminton Ranking Tournament 2025 – A National Sporting Showcase

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) proudly hosted the 1st All Pakistan Badminton Ranking Tournament 2025 from 25th to 30th June at Wah Cantt, delivering a landmark event in Pakistan’s badminton history. Spearheaded by the SNGPL Sports Cell, the tournament featured high-energy matches and brought together top-tier athletes from across the nation.

Over 200 players — including 140 men and 60 women — participated in four categories: Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, and Women’s Doubles. Eleven renowned teams joined the event: SNGPL, WAPDA, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Police, Punjab, KP, Sindh, Balochistan, HEC, Islamabad, and POF Wah.

The Opening Ceremony on 25th June was graced by Mr. Arshad Mahmood, Vice President (SSC-SNGPL), along with prominent officials from the Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF), SNGPL Sports Standing Committee, and POF Wah. They extended a warm welcome to all athletes and reaffirmed support for SNGPL’s sporting vision.

All matches were live-streamed via the official Facebook pages of SNGPL Sports and the PBF, reaching over 200,000 viewers globally and receiving widespread appreciation for its professional execution.

  • Final Score: 21-12, 16-21, 21-14
Women’s Singles
  • Winner: Ammarah Ishtiaq (Army)
  • Runner-Up: Alja Tariq (Army)
  • Final Score: 21-18, 21-12
  • (Both finalists defeated top national players including Olympian Mahoor Shahzad)
Women’s Doubles
  • Winners: Ghazala Siddique (WAPDA) & Ammarah Ishtiaq (Army)
  • Runners-Up: Zubaira Islam & Umama Usman (SNGPL)
  • Final Score: 21-16, 21-19

The Closing Ceremony on 30th June was led by Mr. Saqib Arbab, Deputy Managing Director (Operations), SNGPL. He applauded the athletes’ performance and the tournament’s high standards. Also present were Mr. Imtiaz Mahmood, President (SSC), along with senior officials from SNGPL, PBF, and POF Wah, including General Managers from Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Wah regions.

Over PKR 840,000 in cash prizes, medals, and trophies were awarded, recognizing outstanding talent and promoting the spirit of fair play.

SNGPL extends its deepest thanks to the Pakistan Badminton Federation, POF Wah, and all partner organizations for their support. This successful tournament not only amplified national sports visibility but also reaffirmed SNGPL’s role in nurturing Pakistan’s athletic future.
