What are the scenarios which require change of name for gas connection?
There are two scenarios :
  • Death of the Consumer
  • Death of the Consumer

Is it mandatory to clear all outstanding dues before submitting application for change of Name?
Yes. It is mandatory for the applicant to clear all outstanding dues before applying for change of name.

What are the documents required for change of name in case of Sale of Property?
Yes. It is mandatory for the applicant to clear all outstanding dues before applying for change of name.
The following documents are required for change of name in case of Sale of Property.
  1. Application for Change of Name from the present owner
  2. Copy of last paid bill
  3. Copy of Property sale deed (duly attested) in the name of the new owner
  4. Copies of CNICs of the present owner.
  5. Affidavit from the applicant that he will abide by SNGPL rules and regulations and shall be responsible for all dues regarding the gas connection. In case of joint ownership, NOC from all other present owners is also required.

are the documents required for change of name in case of death of consumer?
The following documents are required for change of name in case of death of consumer.
  1. Application for Change of Name from the present owner
  2. Copy of Death Certificate of the deceased consumer
  3. Copy of last paid bill
  4. NOC from the other legal heirs in favour of successor (the applicant) stating that they have no objection if the title of the gas connection is changed.
  5. Attested copy of Court Order/ Succession Certificate etc.
  6. Copies of CNICs of the applicant and the legal heirs.
  7. Affidavit from the applicant that he will abide by SNGPL rules and regulations and shall be responsible for all dues regarding the gas connection.

For change of name in case of purchase of property, NOC from previous owner is required or not?
No. In order to facilitate the present owner of the property, this condition has been withdrawn by SNGPL. However, for transfer of security, NOC from previous consumer is mandatory.

Where is the application for change of name to be filed?
The application for change of name can be filed in the concerned regional / sub regional office of SNGPL.

Howe long does it take for change of name?
After completion of survey and signing of contract by the consumer, it may take one billing cycle to affect change of name in the consumer’s bill.

Who to contact in case of extraordinary delay?
Sales Officer / Sales Incharge of the concerned regional / sub regional office of SNGPL should be contracted.

Why my requeste for change of name is not being processed expeditiously?
There may be certain reasons such as incomplete documents, outstanding dues, disputed premises, stay orders etc.
